John Morel agreement, 1774 December 2.

The collection consists of one document of agreement between John Morel, Robert Watts, and Edward Telfair concerning the cutting and delivery of "a full and sufficient quantity of live oak... intended for building a ship"... to "the island of Ossabaw." The agreement is signed by George Walton who, in 1774, was engaged in a prosperous law practice in Savannah, Georgia. Later Walton was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and a Georgian governor.
